Following on from last week's Orakei Basin clip:
- created a short "drawing" video, allowing the combination of the objects in the water and automatic computer tracking to create visual and data pathways, which in turn were used to animate a basic particle sequence (there are a few glitches and rogue particles which I need to fix)
- also explored the original tracked clip via screen capture - zooming in and out gives me the feeling of an anonymous surveilling entity watching the interactions and movements of a series of nonhuman characters on screen. Each has a role in the collective composition, but also hold their own energy
- zooming into the clip to the point of distortion helped make obvious the pixels in the original low resolution clip; to me, the pixels almost mirror the unknown objects and particles in the water - each make up or add to the composition of their environment (digital and ecological, respectively)
- have included original audio from the source clip too for added layering in this small segment. I think it's my favourite of the group:
